As the police and the people of Tokyo are helpless, five unlikely heroes have advance to do the day. They are students of Tokyo Majin!

“Tokyo Majin” (Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuch: T) is an anime that has already ran for two seasons this year on Japan’s satellite anime channel Animax and has spawned a PlayStation and PlayStation 2 video game years earlier.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Tokyo Majin, Volume 1: Dark Arts - Dragon Stream! Click Here

Similar to the approved “Megami Tensei” video games, fans of the video game series (first game was on the PSX serve in 1998) have been wanting an anime series and now, here it is.

The series revolve around five students of Megami Academy. The school has been rocked by students that have gone missing at their high school and deaths are mounting.

A fresh student named Hiyu Tatsuma has arrive to the school and gets acquainted with the other students such as the brash Horaiji Kyoichi of the kendo club, Daigo Yuya of the wrestling club, Sakurai Komaki of the archery (kyudo) club and Misato Aoi, the student body president and from a wealthy, much family.

Throw in a few characters for comedy relief which including Tohno Kyoko, reporter of the school newspaper (behaves like one of the paparazzi) and Maria Alucard, a teacher at Megami Academy.

Upon watching the first volume, I will say that the first episode was a bit confusing. You are introduced to characters from days musty, to characters in the explain and without any worthy introduction until you net to the second episode. But what you do inspect from the first episode are frosty characters, wintry animation and fighting and violence that you near away wondering if this is like an “X-Men” or “Persona” style of anime that takes residence in high school.

But once you gather to the second episode, you rep to know a exiguous bit about the characters and how each of them are so different from each other. What you are able to section together is that Tatsuma was sent to the school for a reason, Kyoichi is a fighter but a total dick and even more to Aoi, Daigo is a sizable brute that wrestles but loves to cook and has a thing for Komaki and both Komaki and Aoi are best friends.

Episode 2 goes into the five discovering their powers.

In episode 3, crows are attacking the city and also, a mysterious figure is spying on the five. This leads to a battle between the five and Umon Raito, a lightning wielding fighter and veteran lead vocalist of the rock band CROW.

In episode 4, you are introduced to Karasu Ryouchi, the leader and lead guitarist of the rock band CROW who joins with the terrible monsters and is given the power to manipulate lightning and electricity and takes on the five students. It appears that Ryouchi doesn’t like his stale bandmate Raito for a reason.

In this episode, you pick up to learn about the band CROW and why the band disbanded. Also, the five learn that they are not the only people gifted with supernatural powers and that there are others using their power for spoiled.

In episode 5, the five heroes discuss their fresh lives and how living a normal life will never be the same. Students continue to die and this time, the next target is student body president Misato Aoi. This is the introduction of doctor Iwayama Takako who has the power to treat patients wounded by demons.

The animation for “Tokyo Majin” is splendid chilly. What I like is the different color usage for day, night and early evening. I be pleased the character designs. It’s very stylish and hip.

The audio for the English dub and the Japanese are both well done. I watched both series completely in English and Japanese and both are frosty in their enjoy cultural plot.

As for the DVD special features, the first volume features the shipshape opening and closing animation, ADV previews and DVD credits.

“Tokyo Majin” is a very fast-paced anime that features a estimable balance of over-the-top humor and violence.

I know during these times of anime such as “Bleach” and even “Naruto”, anime about teamwork and the team taking on disagreeable may be a bit overplayed. But I’ve seen it through the years develop “Ranma 1/2, “Fushigi Yuugi”, “Rurouni Kenshin”, “X” to the modern cream of the prick anime with similar storylines.

And I direct, one would wonder what makes “Tokyo Majin” so different from the others out there.

I teach with “Tokyo Majin”, it reminds me of the current NBC sci-fi display “HEROES” where people are suddenly with special supernatural powers and in this case, people are dying, the uninteresting are coming alive ala zombies and some poor things are happening in Tokyo. Then you have the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel” type of feeling with high school people (who would probably never hang out), joined together for a popular cause to eliminate the contemptible and engage on those with powers who employ it on the side of depraved.

Now will “Tokyo Majin” rise up to be a classic like the other anime that I have mentioned? It’s too early to say.

It has a chilly style to it, it has frigid character designs and also chilly J-Rock music. I found the characters mostly to be quite likeable and overall, I feel “Tokyo Majin” to be a very chilly anime with a lot of potential.

Because this game is fine great based on a celebrated video game, not too say that I was not expecting worthy but I will say that it definitely exceeded my expectations.

As for the DVD, I was a bit surprised that there were only impartial the offering of elegant opening and ending themes but looking at the Japanese release of the DVD, it’s magnificent worthy the same.

So far, I am enjoying what I have seen so far of “Tokyo Majin”. Awesome action featuring an akward team of heroes, each with special abilities going against hardcore demons, zombies and improper in general. A slight humor hear and there. But it’s nice to spy the human side of high school students who want to exhaust their powers for reliable and those who objective want to go on living their high school life and have fun and know that they will need to form a choice on how to live their life.

I definitely peep forward to watching more episodes of this series!

I’m not going to summarize the state of this movie. Others have already done that. I’m unprejudiced going to exclaim you I assume it’s one of the funniest films I’ve ever seen.

I savor this kind of gaze gag humor. And nobody does it better than Leslie Neilsen.

The Police Squad! videos are priceless TV detective explain parodies. It’s a pity only a handful of episodes were ever made. They’re a blast to glance — especially the ruin credits when the actors “freeze” yet everything else in the scene continues to proceed. Really dreary humor, but it gets me every time.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Naked Gun - From the Files of Police Squad!! Click Here

Which is why I treasure this, the first of the three Naked Gun movies. They feature the same bumbling detective (Neilsen) and the same daring team that created the short-lived TV series.

I can look this film and laugh every time. My accepted scenes are the chalk outline floating on the water…the shoe shine guy to which Lt. Drebin palms money for information…and, well, I could name scene after scene.

Naked Gun is not for everyone. Not everyone likes the rapid-fire stare gag humor that makes this movie (and The Simpsons) such a joy to peep.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Naked Gun - From the Files of Police Squad!! Click Here

But if that kind of humor tickles your comical bone, Naked Gun will cause you to laugh all the device to the store to seize the other two installments.

I saw this movie at the cinema, and when I walked out of the darkened theatre my sides harm so noteworthy from laughing you would have sworn I was suffering from appendicitis, and I rivalled Niagara Falls in my crying - the tears were unprejudiced streaming down my face!

This inane, farcical comedy has got to be one of the funniest films ever released. It’s humorous, but the silliness is silly and not pointless. Even the cameo actors are houmourous! Leslie Nielsen is extraordinary as the deadpan, very moronic Frank Drebin, a bumbling detective who wouldn’t know a criminal from a saint, and George Kennedy and OJ Simpson are perfect foils for his lunacy. (I’m surprised. I said something NICE about OJ Simpson!) And Priscilla Presley has never looked better. She and Leslie Nielsen have a chemistry between them that is lacking in many serious or other comedy movies. What can I say? This movie is huge! I order you to cessation reading these reviews and go and rent or prefer this movie! Acquire me, you won’t regret it!

Compare Prices on The Dream Team

The Dream Team is honest another one of those killer comedies that no one went to explore when it was originally released, but has now found a nice following on home video. I actually saw the film in theaters and understanding it was hands down the funniest movie of the year!

First you have a mammoth comedy ensemble who also can play drama fair as effectively. Michael Keaton is Billy Caufield (”I’m an escaped mental patient with a history of violence”), Christopher Lloyd is Henry Sikorsky, an overly organized person (”Why don’t we bring this up in group? Or maybe we should honest hug? “), Peter Boyle is Jack McDermott who has a Messiah complex (”Arise and waddle, my son”), & Stephen Furst is Albert Ianuzzi, who only speaks in TV ads and baseball jargon (”Nobody doesn’t like Sara Lee”) .

If you don’t already know by now, these guys are four mental patients, whose doctor, played by Dennis Boutsikaris (”One more afternoon in the rec room and I’m gonna have to go on Thorazine myself”), decides to catch them to a baseball game in Unusual York. Only things don’t go as planned, as the honorable doctor ends up getting knocked unconscious and whisked away to a hospital, leaving his patients all alone on the streets of Original York City. And the comedy ensues! As the gang tries to figure out a scheme to win their doctor, they destroy up finding “themselves” in the process. Add Lorraine Bracco (of “Goodfellas” and “The Sopranos” fame) as Keaton’s girlfriend (”So am I walking home with an escaped mental patient or what? “) and you know you’re space to have a expedient time.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Dream Team! Click Here

What makes the film memorable is that it has the perfect blend of laugh outloud humor (”We’re a special combat unit with the United States Marine Corps and we’ve been tracking some Libyan terrorists. In fact I reflect we’ve got ‘em trailed to a bagel shop around the corner.”) combined with some tender dramatic moments, that work together seamlessly.

The DVD is your typical standard DVD. No extras, other than the current theatrical trailer. Happily the film is presented in Anamorphic Widescreen in its recent aspect ratio of 1.85:1, which looks exquisite honorable. A microscopic shadowy in some spots, but not too considerable to complain about.

So if you’re looking for a comedy that’s burly of mountainous laughs as well as a salubrious anecdote with some dramatic moments thrown in for proper measure, rob up The Dream Team today. It’s the sanest choice to manufacture!

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Dream Team! Click Here

The Dream Team - a very amusing movie.

Henry - “We’re directly under the Hudson River now”.

Billy - “Yeah. You guys glance those tiles up there, all those individual tiles? Doc, isn’t upright that if even one of those tiles were to advance loose, like millions and millions of gallons of water would approach pouring down on us and crush us like small petite bugs? (pauses) Is that a leak up there? You eye those tiles? They’re leakin’ water! Oh, my God!”

Jack - “I will believe help the waters”.

Billy - “Thanks, Jack”.

A side-splitting comedy about four mental patients: Michael Keaton as a habitual liar who has violent tendencies, Christopher Lloyd as an obsessive-compulsive who thinks he runs the hospital, Peter Boyle as a outmoded advertising executive with a messiah complex who likes to lift his clothes off, and Stephen Furst as catatonic couch potato. Against the wishes of the hospital administration, their compassionate doctor takes the four patients to Recent York City to seek a major league baseball game. When the van reaches the city, the doctor has to exit the van - with patients level-headed inside - only to examine a kill committed by two rank cops. The doctor is attacked by the cops, leaving him hospitalized and unable to support his patients. The patients then fetch themselves framed for the execute. Now the patients have to not only act “sane” to display their innocence, they also have to effect the life of their doctor who is quiet a target of the two cops.

What makes this movie work is the relationship of the patients. It is so remarkable fun watching Keaton, Lloyd, and Boyle bicker all the time about the littlest things. Boyle has a really comical scene in which he leaves the van while Lloyd tries to block him. Boyle then muscles his plot past Lloyd, tells him that He shall have no fake gods before Him, and finally he tells Lloyd to earn out his scheme before calling him a seven-letter word. There might only be so noteworthy you can do with a catatonic character, but Furst is quite memorable. Even though the doctor must have the patience of a saint when dealing with them, he probably has a harder time suppressing a laugh. Quite simply, this is a movie that gets better every time you gape it.

This was a very nice, well attach together documentary of Audrey Hepburn. They have so many of the ample people who’ve worked with her and those who were her end companions. It’s a really nice insight of the mountainous actress through the eyes of her friends/co-stars. PLUS, there are many interview clips of Audrey Hepburn, herself that I have never seen before. Audrey never really enjoyed talking about her life, but when she started working with UNICEF, Audrey idea it was a suited plan to save herself out in the public so attention will be drawn on UNICEF and the countries they’ve helped.

Though the clips and interviews with these prominent people are rare and superior, the quality of the sound and relate plunge by the arrangement side. For this, one star was taken off of my rating, but other than that, broad capture.

Recommended to: Audrey Hepburn fans and Gregory Peck fans.

When this film was released in 1999 it did not salvage the press it deserved and I never saw it until I it aired on HBO. After the first viewing, I was zigzag on the film. I have always belief Depp was an apt actor and he plays an almost likable but undoubtedly gloomy character than has clearly adopted the “me above all others” plot of thinking. He is hired by Frank Langella who plays a very dim, Devil worshiping book collector with a hidden agenda, lyrically named Boris Balkan. Throughout the film, Depp is visited and aided by Emmanuelle Seigner (who to this day I have never seen in anything else in spite of a long European filmography) but one of the mysteries of the film is that you never know who this girl is. An agent of the Devil, the Devil itself or a murky angel? As usual, Lena Olin plays a forgettable character and is probably the weakest fraction of the film. Even though Langella’s portrayal of the tainted book collector goes a tiny over the top toward the raze, the film and the interactions between Depp and the other possessors of this rare book are not to be missed. I am looking forward to the blu-ray release.

No matter what you mediate about “The Ninth Gate” as a account, the film’s flaws are overshadowed by Darius Khondji’s much photography; in fact, that was one of two reasons I bought it on DVD when it came out: the visuals AND the fetishistic detail to the books (typefaces, engravings, and the sound the pages made when they turned…mmmmm) . So I rented the Blu-ray version of the film to glance if it was worth buying.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Ninth Gate! Click Here

DEAR. GOD. This may very well be the worst Blu-ray transfer I have EVER seen thus far. Even worse that the legendary Digital Noise-riddled “Terminator 2″ Blu-Ray. I barely got through my common 10 minutes of the film before I shut the whole thing off and took it benefit. The transfer is an Evil washed out, aged-looking, and GRAINY-AS-ALL-GET-OUT P.O.S. and it’s the only digital-age disc I’ve actually felt CHEATED on (even early-era DVDs had sharper advantages over video…plus you knew better re-releases would follow when DVD technology picked up, but at this point in technology this is inexcusable) .

I cannot recommend a Blu-ray title LESS than this one. For me, Blu-ray is about the VIDEO and AUDIO, not about the film itself. Even if I judge a movie sucks, I’ll commend it if the Blu-ray transfer is valid (I acquire “Transformers” for cryin’ out loud), because that’s what people want to know. But even at $9 this disc is a total rip-off and the studio should have known better than to release this to the public. I will wait for the re-issue…but not with bated breath.

Nobody played the accused innocent any better than John Payne. Expansive and favorable looking, Payne exuded a unruffled suitable strength combined with an ability and willingness to mess it up with the unpleasant boys whenever the residence dictated. An Eagle Scout with a merit badge in bar brawling.

KANSAS CITY CONFIDENTIAL is a bright exiguous crime drama that features Payne as the unluckiest of flower delivery drivers in motion represent history. It seems that Mr. Gigantic, poor guy Preston Foster, has been meticulously plotting a bank heist, and an integral portion of his concept involves using an sincere duplicate of Payne’s truck as the getaway vehicle. Nothing personal, John. The poor guys don’t even know you.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Kansas City Confidential! Click Here

Mr. Astronomical has recruited three thugs (Jack Elam, Lee van Cleef, and Neville Label) to pull off the heist, taking the precaution of insisting they always wear masks while in each other’s presence. That plot, if things go rank, nobody will know who his accomplices are. For a gracious share of this movie the only one who has anything going rotten is dreadful John Payne, who is promptly fingered as one of the bank robbers. In this movie, Payne seemingly can’t saunter into a room without getting pounded by some bulky cop or surly con.

KANSAS CITY CONFIDENTIAL is briskly paced and offers enough exiguous surprises to support us on our toes. Phil Karlson was a astronomical director, under-appreciated in his time and relegated almost exclusively to B-movie duties. KANSAS CITY CONFIDENTIAL is one of his best. Strongly recommended.

For years Kansas City Confidential has languished in the Public Domain Hell. Released in a woefully bad version from Alpha (examine the video wiggle at the bottom of the cover every 10 seconds), and a worthy better, but mild flawed version from Image (the picure is impartial a bit too shadowy and has some minor print pain), along with several “dollar” DVD versions that were even more flawed than the Alpha and Image releases, Kansas City Confidential was a movie that most Film Noir fans concept would never seek an “official” DVD release by MGM (owner of the master print, and - presumably - the negatives) .

Buy,Download, Or Stream Kansas City Confidential! Click Here

But here it is - MGM is actually releasing (or has released, depending on when you read this) the “official” DVD for this unbelievable Film Noir. Based on their track characterize of releasing official versions of movies previously relegated to public domain releases (gawk He Walked By Night as an example - MGM’s DVD is flawless!), this should scrutinize a drastic improvement in both image and sound quality over all of the previous versions released to date.

The movie itself is a tightly written, well acted (John Payne is incredible, and the supporting cast of Preson Foster, Lee Van Cleef, Neville Trace, Jack Elam, and Coleen Gray are all reach perfect in their roles), and extremely well directed by Phil Karlson.

This is a classic crime/wrong man framed and sets out for revenge movie. For fans of Film Noir this is truly a, “Must Have,” DVD.

Update - The DVD is, as expected, a Sizable improvement over the Image release, which istself is worthy better than the Alpha version. MGM/Fox have done a very nice job on the quality of this release - the print old-fashioned is agreeable. Even if you already have a previous version of Kansas City Confidential you peaceful may want to salvage this one for the noteworthy improved describe and sound.

Can’t wait to observe what extras are on the DVD. Saw the HBO special several times and loved it, got funnier every time. Like some of the greats, Carlin, Pryor and so on he is able to build his vulgarity work for him so that he doesn’t sound like so many other comics, unprejudiced being coarse and offensive for the sheer shock of it. It comes across as natural, as if it is unbiased who he is and how he sees the world. No one is genuine from ridicule, even himself. I can’t recommend this special enough. One of the freshest minds in comedy since Eddie Izzard.

Part 2 of Nip/Tuck season Five is only sightly better (less chaotic, and not as boring) than Piece 1 (which i would rate 2/5) . It is quite dim how far this display has fallen. If you are a hardcore fan of the display, recall this space up, if not, leave it alone.

I’m here not to complain about mark, but the quality of the exhibit. Season five was a mixed bag of inane legend lines, many stretches of record and status were it honest came of as “No they didn’t do that…how dead!!” This season suffered draw more than a lot of other crazy/zany/impossible sort of Nip Tuck-esque storylines. Season 5 of Nip Tuck wasn’t that huge. Too many topics were a near….a substantial time arrive that made the point to unwatchable at times. Stick to seasons 1-3 and perhaps some of #4 if you want classic, fresh, Nip Tuck.

I’m David Shaber’s daughter, Sam, (Samantha.) My father wrote the screenplay for The Warriors, and I’m hoping this “review” gets printed because he honest passed away on Thursday morning, November 4th, of a sudden burst anneurism. With so many “Warriors” fans out there, I plan you would want to know. I’m incredibly warmed by these amazing comments about this film and I know that if he read them (although he had barely learned how to search the internet before he died) he would chuckle in his lighthearted map and say something like “Oh, well isn’t that nice,” all-the-while refusing to lift credit for any of it. But I know he deserved that credit, having taken a sad, psychological examine of gang warfare and infusing it with a classic but clever and topical, well-behaved vs. contemptible epic. (And maybe I shouldn’t admit it, but my dad didn’t really like the baseball face-paint understanding which I possess was one of Walter Hill’s additions - he belief that was too unrealistic and “Hollywood”…) Anyway, I do hope the movie is re-issued with the extra scenes at some point, and for those actual “followers” I unprejudiced discovered that you can fetch a complete list of his produced titles on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb.com) if you want to check it out. The Warriors is indeed an AFFECTING record, whether you savor it or abominate it. So thanks for your comments and acquire care, -Sam.

Walter Hill ( “48 Hrs”, “Hard Times”, “Obscene Prejudice” ) shows his directing flair for action, drama and style in this crackling 1979 movie about a Coney Island gang falsely accused of assassinate and fleeing from their accusers….the other NYC gangs and the Modern York City Police Department.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Warriors! Click Here

Hill successfully adapted to the mask the moderately well-liked original by author Sol Yurick who worked with the NYC Dept of Welfare in the 1950’s. Yurick feeble the basis of dilapidated Greek history and the torturous plug home by Greek soldiers after their leader, Cyrus the Younger, was killed in the Persian Wars…and simply updated the setting to unique day NY and it’s raging gang warfare embracing the five boroughs!

Set amongst a hostile, nocturnal world of neon lit sing stations, baseball bat wielding gang members and lethal, gun toting women “The Warriors” moves along at a frenetic hurry with a aesthetic selection of young actors taking the lead. Michael Beck plays the chilly headed, war chief “Swan”, seeking to derive the other members help home to Coney Island alive and in one share. James Remar is unforgettable as the woman chasing, hot headed “Ajax”…always out to reveal his manhood with his fists. And David Patrick Kelly is perfect as the murderous, but cowardly leader of the Rogues.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Warriors! Click Here

Attending a combined meeting of dozens of street gangs deep in the South Bronx to hear the Gramercy Riffs plans to control the streets of Modern York, the Warriors are wrongly accused of the shooting death of their charismatic leader, “Cyrus”. The finger of blame pointed their draw, they cruise via any means they can and upon their arrangement serve to home corrupt encounter violent opposition from the coarse life “Orphans”, the shaven headed “Turnbull AC’s”, the face painted “Baseball Furies”, the seductive all female gang, the “Lizzies” and even rifts within their possess ranks lead to danger.

The film was roundly savaged by several sections of the community (mainly law enforcement & welfare groups) upon it’s release for apparently inciting gang violence and it’s awful depiction of inner city street kids, and yes, there were several evil incidents at theatre’s upon the film’s release, but these have been blown well out of all proportion. Although, I must say when the film was released in my country (Australia) it was already riding a wave of notoriety, and attracted “poor boys” in their droves to ogle this “spoiled” gang flick. When viewed in the cool light of day, the film is actually fairly cartoon like in it’s depiction of urban violence and most anyone who receives a beating seems to be left fair rubbing their head and moaning ( consider Sylvester the Cat ) in discomfort!

Actor Thomas G. Waites who played the Warriors gang member “Fox”, disagreed with the script and effectively walked out in mid-production, so a grip doubled for Waites in several scenes and Waites’ name was removed from the final credits. Additionally, the “Fox” character’s fate was re-written to have him die in the film after being hurled in front of a subway snort.

Interestingly, out of a on camouflage line up of promising young talent, very few of the cast went on to any dependable major fame & fortune in Hollywood. Lead actor Michael Beck (Swan) went on to appear next in the sugary “Xanadu” with Olivia Newton-John, and by his enjoy admission, it was not a large career proceed, and his film career unfortunately never really flourished. James Remar (Ajax) has easily experienced the most success (with about 70 feature film’s under his belt) and he has continued his motif of tough, aggressive leads in films like “48 Hrs”, and plenty of “straight to video” action fare…plus Remar even crops up regularly on “Sex and the City” & “Third Recognize” re-runs! (It’s honorable to gaze that hard hitting “Ajax” never left Unique York.) And the terrific David Patrick Kelly has kept busy, usually in other tainted, criminal roles…check out his performances in “Commando”, “The Crow” & “Wild at Heart”!

Sadly, young actor Marcellino Sanchez who played graffiti artist “Rembrandt” died from cancer only a few years after the films release.

The recently released “Ultimate Directors Sever” of this cult classic has several ample extras. Apart from an introduction from director Walter Hill, and some interconnecting amusing panel art between sequences in the feature, the DVD has four mini featurettes chock plump of interviews with key cast members and production staff discussing key sequences in the film, plus the phenomenal cult following that has developed for “The Warriors”.

A bright, gripping and swiftly paced film…albeit corny in places with that droll esteem tale sub space with bee stung lipped, Deborah Van Valkenbergh…”The Warriors” is a bona fide cult film with a legion of fans across the globe.
