While I’ve watched The Sword and the Sorcerer a lot, it seems to never get old. I guess it’s one of my favorites. If you haven’t seen it, or just haven’t watched it in a while - why not watch it now? Of course you can watch it later - for free - check the image to see how. It’s the best way I’ve found
*** The Sword and the Sorcerer playing NOW!! ***

This is a great movie with Lee Horsley, Kathleen Beller, Simon MacCorkindale, George Maharis, Richard Lynch
Basically it’s about:
Lean, lanky Lee Horsley (TV’s Matt Houston) is hardly the iconic image of a medieval warrior, but in this cheesy Conan the Barbarian knockoff he makes his swaggering, mercenary Talon a genial smart aleck of a barbarian hero. The plot is pure pulp cliche: evil Cromwell (Richard Lynch) raises a demon to conqur a peaceful kingdom, kill the rulers, and imprison the royal heirs, and the son of a murdered patriot returns to take his righteous vengeance with a projectile-loaded, three-bladed sword. First-time director Albert Pyun apprenticed under Akira Kurosawa and brings with him an eye for handsome images and a fluid sense of action that helps overcome B-movie dialogu (”Unlock this door, wench, and leave that to us!”), scenery-chewing performances, and bargain-basement budget. In one fight sequnce a guard punches a rock wall–and dents it! Kathleen Beller (the dark-eyed beauty of The Betsy) is the rebel princess who enlists Talon to the cause, Route 66’s charming wanderer George Maharis is a conniving traitor under an unflattering mop of greasy hair, and Richard Moll dons a latex monster mask to play the double-crossed demon. It’s utterly silly and often awkward, but it does have energy to spare. The sequl promised at the end of the film was never produced and Pyun went on to direct some of the best straight-to-video action films of the 1990s, including Nemesis. –Sean Axmaker

*** Holly Hobbie & Friends - Surprise Party, Vol. 1 playing NOW!! ***

This is a great movie with Diedrich Bader, Bill Mumy, Liliana Mumy, Jane Lynch, Alyson Stoner
Basically it’s about:
Holly Hobbie & Friends - Surprise Party is an hour-long animated feature starring Holly Hobbie’s great-granddaughter, Holly, who is a modern woman in the making. Dressing in jeans, and sporting long, permed hair and a cool bike, Holly is a far cry from her homely relative who has long been adored for her country-style calico dresses and her ability to bake great cakes. In this episode, Holly is invited to her Aunt’s birthday party, so she wants to learn how to make a cake. She takes baking lessons, in between nightly excursions during which she cuts fake crop circles in the neighbor’s corn patch to trick her little brother into believing in aliens. Pranks continu until a guilt-ridden Holly confesses her dishonesty to Robbie, her brother, and her mother. As Holly seeks familial harmony and a sense of domesticity, she finds a treasure chest containing her great-grandma’s memorabilia. Holly’s rebellious feelings melt away as she discovers that her elder Holly also loved to party. In the end, the cake she makes is awesome and Holly is proud of both her heritage and of herself. Surprise Party seems made for little girls whose use of technology sets them apart from previous generations, but ladies who grew up with the original Holly Hobbie will prefer her humble pioneer look as a reminder of how much times have changed. Nevertheless, this lighthearted story will entertain kids everywhere. Trinie Dalton
Holly Hobbie & Friends - Surprise Party, Vol. 1 is awesome. I’ve probably seen it 20 times, and I never get tired of it. Have you seen it? If you click the image above you can learn how you can watch it now, or any time.

The movie stars:
Jr. Pedro Armendariz, Isaura Espinoza, Blanca Gurra, Alejandro Parodi, Jose Carlos Ruiz
and here’s the plot:
From acclaimed director Felipe Cazals, a highly praised portrait of the generally despised General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, who fought his way to the presidency of Mexico in 1833 but quickly revealed his tru intentions by becoming dictator of that rich and storied land. In 1836, despite personally leading the army against the Texas rebellion and destroying the defenders of the Alamo, he lost the war of Texas Independence. Nonetheless, he held the reins of government four more times through connivance and temporary heroism. Finally exiled from his homeland, he was allowed to return a few years before dying in 1876. Cazal’s film examines the final three days of Santa Anna as he remembers his past.

*** watch Pippin now!! ***
One of Ben Vereen’s best movies. If you haven’t seen it yet, there’s no time like the present! If you’ve already seen it, it’ll be even better this time!
Pippin is a pip of a Broadway musical that is not only a contemporary classic but also the play that made director choreographer Bob Fosse a famous name long before “Cabaret” and “All That Jazz”. Using the medieval legend of Charlemagne’s son, Pippin, heir apparent to the Holy roman Empire, the musical pageant called “Pippin” is a parable about a young man’s search for meaning and truth. With the show’s masterful master of ceremonies, Ben Vereen, jumping the time barrier from the 1980’s to the Middle Ages and back again, while the music and costumes go through similar time and space warps, young “Pippin” embarks on an odyssey to discovery whether there really is “something worthwhile I can do with my life.” William Katt plays-sings-and-dances the title role with a freshness and exuberance rarely seen in today’s entertainment on stage or screen. Broadway’s virtuoso baritone, Ben Rayson, is as regal as they come as Charlemagne. The sheer intensity of Vereen’s many-faceted talents steals the show again and again, but he never upstages his co-stars. Martha Raye brings her boisterous energy to the role of Berthe, Pippin’s 67 year old grandmother, while Chita Rivera ignites sparks every time she prances into a scene as Pippin’s stepmother. The success of “Pippin,” wining five Tony Awards and playing to sellout houses for six years is also what brought recognition to its star, Ben Vereen, long before his acclaimed portrayal of “Chicken George” in “Roots”. With all of its distinctions, “Pippin” has never existed anywhere but Live, on stage, until this videotape production, supervised by Mr. Fosse, and produced and directed for television by David Sheehan. It’s the one video experience you’ll always treasure! Bonus Features: Bonus Interview with Bob Fosse| Actor Bios| Scene Selection. Specs: DVD5; Dolby Digital Stereo; 112 minutes; Color; 1.33:1 Aspect Ratio; MPAA - NR; Year - 1981; SRP - $19.99.
