This is a great movie with Jason Wiles, Russell Means, Margot Kidder, Amanda Peterson, Bruce Weitz
Basically it’s about:
Family approved by the Dove and Kids First Associations, this film follows a high school boy who reluctantly moves with his mother (Margot Kidder) to a small town in Southern Utah. There he visits his father in prison, meets a girl, makes the football team and befriends a mysterious Native American Indian. Wa Tho Huck reveals himself as the earthly spirit of the legendary Carlisle College athlete Jim Thorpe, who delivers the message that one can overcome any obstacle to fulfill life’s dreams in this exciting action-adventure film.
While I’ve watched Windrunner:A Spirited Journey a lot, it seems to never get old. I guess it’s one of my favorites. If you haven’t seen it, or just haven’t watched it in a while - why not watch it now? Of course you can watch it later - for free - check the image above to see how. It’s the best way I’ve found
Vietnam veteran Jacob Singer (Tim Robbins) thinks he is going insane. Or worse. When his nightmares begin spilling into his waking hours, Jacob believes he is experiencing the aftereffects of a powerful drug tested on him during Vietnam. Or perhaps his posttraumatic stress disorder is worse than most. Whatever is happening to him, it is not good. Director Adrian Lyne sparks our interest and maintains high production valus, but this confusing film chokes on its “surprise” ending. It owes much to Ambrose Bierce’s haunting and more straightforward story, “An Occurrence at Owl Creek.” Written by Bruce Joel Rubin, who also explored the “other side” in Ghost and My Life, it ultimately feels like an exercise in self-indulgence. A spirited performance by Elizabeth Pena outshines Robbins, who is surprisingly lethargic. –Rochelle O’Gorman

A particularly gritty and tough episode from Ruth Rendell’s Inspector Reg Wexford series, Simisola begins with the bearish Scots detective receiving some good medical news from his Nigerian physician. Unfortunately, Wexford can’t do the same when the doctor and his wife report the disappearance of their daughter. Seemingly related murders of two women, and the severe beating of a third, in Wexford’s Sussex country town of Kingsmarkham do nothing to clarify what happened to the missing girl and, much to Wexford’s dismay, exacerbate racist tensions rumbling beneath the investigation. Actor George Baker, who has been playing the civilized and often unflappable Wexford in television dramas since 1988, is wonderful here, counterpointing the detective’s natural politesse with droll asides and clipped impatience with self-important witnesses. Rendell’s attack on a loophole in British immigration laws (essentially sanctioning modern slavery) is startling but does not overwhelm Simisola’s entertaining police procedural. –Tom Keogh
